Unlocking the Power of ChatGPT: From Living Wills to Business Plans with AI

By Mike Worley, Symboc Designs

Artificial Intelligence is no longer just a buzzword — it’s a rapidly expanding field changing the way we work, create, and communicate. At Symboc Designs, we’ve been diving deep into one of AI’s most powerful tools: ChatGPT. In our latest video series, we walk you step-by-step through how this chatbot can help anyone become more efficient, more creative, and more productive — often in just seconds.

In this post, we’ll recap the key takeaways from our video tutorial, showcasing how ChatGPT can help you draft legal documents, express your feelings in writing, create business plans, and more.

Getting Started with ChatGPT

Before exploring all the things ChatGPT can do, the first step is setting up your free account:

  1. Visit ChatGPT.com in your browser.
  2. Click Sign Up in the upper-right corner.
  3. Enter your email address.
  4. Check your inbox for a verification code and enter it in the window provided.
  5. Submit your full name and birthday when prompted.
  6. Click Continue and you’re in!

Once inside, ChatGPT will show a short intro labeled “Tips for Getting Started.” Read through it and click “OK, Let’s Go.” You’re now ready to start generating!

Example 1: Creating a Living Will

We started with something practical — a Living Will and Advance Directive, which many people are asked for when visiting healthcare providers.

The prompt we used was simple:

“Write me an advance directive and living will that is valid in the State of Florida.”

ChatGPT instantly generated a document complete with areas to fill in your personal details like name and address. Just copy the output, paste it into a Word document, and you’re ready to customize and save.

Example 2: Writing a Love Letter

Next, we got a little sentimental. We asked ChatGPT to help craft a heartfelt anniversary message.

Prompt:

“Write me a love letter to my wife Merlyn on the occasion of our 43rd wedding anniversary.”

The result? A beautiful, touching letter that read as if it came from the heart — full of vivid imagery and warm reflections on shared memories. It far surpassed what most of us could write on our own.

Example 3: A Custom Shakespearean Sonnet

For a creative challenge, we asked the bot to write a Shakespearean sonnet using a traditional structure (14 lines, iambic pentameter, ABAB CDCD EFEF GG rhyme scheme).

Prompt:

“Write me a Shakespearean sonnet to my wife Merlyn. Center on how different we are and how we came from distant places to thrive in the US. Raised 2 incredible boys who gave us 4 perfect grandchildren.”

ChatGPT followed instructions precisely, delivering a poem in classic style. Though beautiful, we noted the language was a bit dated, like something straight from the 1600s — a great reminder that refining prompts leads to better results.

Example 4: Building a Business Plan

We then put ChatGPT to the test on a professional level — creating a full business plan for Symboc Designs.

Prompt:

“Write me a business plan for Symboc Designs, an internet marketing and learning company with a funding sum of $50,000 for the first year. Have a look at symboc.com, the company website for complete information. There are 3 owners/employees. Provide full details including budget and detailed marketing plan.”

ChatGPT created a complete plan, including:

  • Executive Summary
  • Management Overview
  • Services Offered
  • Marketing Plan
  • Financial Projections

While impressive, we noticed it missed some key services from our website — like e-commerce — reminding us that human review is still essential.

To improve the plan, we then entered:

“Increase the budget to $150,000 and make necessary adjustments.”

The updated version came back with a more polished look, better formatting, and revised financials — though the core structure remained the same. This showed us that while ChatGPT can upscale a plan quickly, more detailed prompts will yield deeper results.

Example 5: Writing a Blog Post from Scratch

Finally, we asked ChatGPT to create a 1,000-word blog post on a topic we knew very little about.

Prompt:

“Write a blog post of at least 1,000 words about summer air travel tips.”

What we received was a detailed, well-organized post covering topics like:

  • Booking early
  • Packing light
  • Airport security tips
  • Managing delays
  • Staying hydrated and comfortable
  • Traveling with tech
  • Keeping your documents ready

This type of writing — clear, informative, and structured — is where ChatGPT really shines. It’s a fantastic tool for generating blog content, newsletters, and articles with minimal effort.

Final Thoughts

Whether you’re drafting legal documents, expressing heartfelt emotions, building business strategies, or just trying to publish a blog, ChatGPT is like having an all-knowing assistant by your side. While it’s not perfect and does require your oversight, it’s an incredible asset for anyone working with content, creativity, or communication.

In our next post and video, we’ll show how to use AI to help build a complete website — using ChatGPT and other tools to streamline everything from design to copywriting.

Stay tuned — and happy prompting!
